Creating a Model

Please read Key Modelling Concepts first. This will introduce the terms in bold that are used in this document

You can use a Project Wizard to set up a project by selecting the Project Wizards button from the Welcome Screen, or by selecting Tools->Wizards->Project Wizards. This will lead you through steps 1,2,4 and 5 below.

To create a model without using a Project Wizard follow the 6 steps explained below.

Step 1 : Define project views

Step 2 : Define A Camera

  • you are using a digital camera to obtain images, and you wish to use Viewpoint Estimation to calculate Viewing Directions for you. Define a camera
Else
  • You will supply a Viewing Direction for each View. You do not need to define a camera.

Step 3 : Add Cues to Images

Step 4 : Defining Viewing Directions

  • you are using Viewpoint Estimation to have viewing directions calculated from Viewpoint Cues. Views with viewpoint cues will have viewing directions calculated automatically.

Step 5 : Define Model Settings

Step 6 : Build a model, and if necessary refine it.
