3rd August 2005 Real2Virtual Release Real2Virtual WebView

Real2Virtual today announced the release of Real2Virtual WebView. WebView is a free Java Applet that allows 3D models to be presented on web-pages in an interactive manner. Real2Virtual WebView technology allows models to be seen on web-pages directly without the need for third party viewers or browser plug-ins. WebView complements Real2Virtual's 3D model creation software Real2Virtual3D which generates photo-real 3D models of objects from photographs. Models generated using Real2Virtual3D can now be reduced and published in WebView format using Real2Virtual ReduceM3D - providing a complete solution for 3d model creation, compression and presentation.

Real2Virtual WebView standard is free to use on any website and supports the Real2Virtual3D model format.

Real2Virtual WebView+ supports Real2Virtual3D and StL (stereo lithography) formats and includes a full copy of Real2Virtual ReduceM3D.

3rd November 2003 Real2Virtual Release Tile Designer 2

Real2Virtual today announced the release of Real2Virtual Tile Designer Version 2.

Tile designer allows anyone to create Escher-like tiles and tiling patterns quickly and easily. To design a tile is simple, choose from one of 6 generic tile types and then add points to create a complex tiling shape. Tile designer constantly monitors your design moving points to ensure the shape is always a perfect tile. At any stage you may see the tile in a tiling pattern and modify the look of the tiling. Tiles may be exported for use as seamless "wallpaper" backgrounds for use on your windows desktop or for stunning web-page backgrounds.

Following the popular first release of Tile Designer we have addressed a number of user issues, and enhanced functionality, to create a simple but powerful design tool. Enhancements include an improved interface, automatic tile-smoothing and the ability to create even more varied designs than before.

Real2Virtual Tile Designer can be tried for free by downloading the demonstration version. A small fee is charged for the full version.

14th June 2002  Real2Virtual Release Modeller 3.0

Real2Virtual today announced the release of Version 3.0 of their Real2Virtual Modeller and Viewer package. This is the first fully commercial release, and represents a considerable advance on previous versions.

Modeller allows users to create photo-real 3D models of objects from photographs, scanned images and drawings. The new interface is easy to use, employing Wizards, automation and project management features to greatly simplify the model creation and maintenance process. Modeller now has a complete set of drawing tools which include a tool for creating 3D text. The realism of models is much greater than previous versions, thanks to the new Builder3 technology and a comprehensive set of new modelling features.

Models created by Modeller may be viewed using Real2Virtual Viewer 3.0 (included in the package) or exported for publication on web-pages in VRML1 or VRML2/97 formats. In addition VRML may be optimised for use with IBM HotMedia, which provides a high-fidelity low-bandwidth means of displaying finished models on web-pages.

Modeller 3.0 is marketed to bridge the gap between the final shareware version (2.02) and future commercial offerings, with reasonable prices for single user and site license.
